It’s that time again where we give you a progress update to keep you all informed of what’s going on with GX06 DYW.
Since the last post lots has happened and we’re pleased to confirm that GX06 DYW is alive again with 2 new batteries.
Our very own Adrian fitted the new batteries that where supplied to us at a discounted price from Gavin at Bennetts Coaches. Huge thank you to Gavin for helping us obtain the new batteries at a decent price.
We’ve now fitted all the seat backs, bases, handles and cushions back into place after all the cushions went to Ashley’s house to be shampooed. We’ve just got 2 seats left to do as we need 2 handles, Turns out the ones we got from the scrap yard ain’t much use. Complicated!
During the works we’ve been carrying out one of the cables to the bells at the rear split, Luckily Harry has been learning how to crimp electrical wires, So this job only took a few minutes to do.
So with all the work finally done it was time to take GX06 DYW for a spin. She’s done 2 journey’s around Cheltenham, The first covering 20 miles which included a trip down the A40 Golden Valley Bypass. The second covering 25 miles which included a stop for photos along the way. You can see those photos posted by Harry on our Facebook page.
We’re now in a position to get GX06 DYW a fresh new MOT. This is due in February so we’ll be getting this sorted in due course. If you want to donate to the MOT cost feel free to click here.
Once the MOT is done subject to passing we will then be ready for bus rally season! We hope to offer a day trip out to members in March, so watch this space.
On behalf of all the team at GX06 DYW we’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year too!
